August 29th: Charity Demo / Display at St. Leonards, Polson in Aid of St. Lukes Hospice

 

This event was a huge success and we raised £855:79 for St Lukes. The evening began with looking at the horses paces and fitting the paces to various pieces of music. Clare then had 3 horses in costume doing dressage to music displays to show that music can be fun. Katy Deithrick and Karen Franklin demonstratd their pairs routine which they were using at the Riding Club Champs produced and choreographed by Cadence. Ali Malhuish and memebrs of Area 16 Side Saddle Assoc. also joined us for a slightly different act. We were lucky to have some hugely generous raffle prizes donated and the evening was a huge success. We are planning something similar for next year.

 

Cornwall Dressage Group "An Introduction to Dressage to Music"

 

On the 29th March Cadence ran an "Introduction to Dressage to Music" Lecture / Demo at Resparvith, Grampound, Cornwall. We had a good attendance in the audience and started with a little bit about the theory side of Freestyle. This was followed by some work on the paces, what fits and what doesn't. We then ran through 2 Novice routines to demonstrate how simple you can make the choreography to start with and then ways to adjust the floor plan to gain higher artistic marks. We finished with a demonstration of an PSG Freestlye.
